Steam Club is a joyful place to learn, work, create, share and have fun! STEAM CLUB runs for two hours on select days, where students learn "Maker" skills, creative problem solving, gracious professionalism, collaborative competition and working together as a team.
Prerequisite Attitudes ... Attitudes are the secific ways to think about an approach your world.
KEY ATTITUDES . . .
1. Safety minded, thinks about safety first.
2. Curious and open to learning.
3. Accepts correction - Open to new ways of thinking and working.
4. Understands this is a working club, and not just a place to be entertained.
5. When learning new skills, asks for help when not sure (Axiom: When in doubt, Ask.)
6. Tolerate of others.
7. Understanding failure is a chance to start over. Mistakes are going to happen as we learn.
8. Aware of time available to work.
9. Bringing your sense of humor, and laughter.
Prerequisite Skills - None needed, you can learn them as you go.
WHAT WILL HELP. . .
1. Good hand-eye coordination.
2. Listening skills and following directions.
3. Skill in using a broom and dust pan.
4. Story telling, writing and using a camera for photos and videos.
5. Time management (when in the flow of a project, time flies).
