Dive into the five major methods of space food preparation (like thermostabilized, irradiated, freeze-dried, rehydratable, and natural form foods) and uncover the unique challenges each faces in microgravity, such as preventing crumbs from floating away or dealing with limited water. You'll cook eggs in a frying pan on the ground, then learn how freeze-dried eggs are rehydrated and eaten aboard the International Space Station, run exciting taste tests with classmates (real strawberries vs. freeze-dried, anyone?), and even experiment with the difficulties of baking bread both at camp and in space.

Along the way, discover hygiene hurdles like hand washing without running water and the importance of food packaging that doesn't burst open.
